About Joy Bush

Joy has decades of experience as a documentary and fine art photographer. Her photographs have appeared in The Village Voice, The New York Times, Connecticut Review, and many other publications. She is represented in the permanent collections of the Cincinnati Museum of Art, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, the Yale Medical Group Art Place in New Haven, CT, and in many private collections. She also exhibits widely in solo and group shows throughout the Northeast.

Joy values her pregnancy portraits because they provide her with insight into the mystery of new life—“an unspoken connection.” She also enjoys the deep rapport that she achieves with pregnant women. “I get the strong impression that each woman leaves the session feeling great about herself. I feel great, too.”
